How will you tame or slay the worry dragon in your mind today?
In counseling, we talk about worry as like a dragon so we don’t feel like we are fighting against ourselves. From a spiritual perspective, it’s a great way to help kids and teach them to ask God to help them battle their worry dragons without feeling bad.
Each day we can choose to feed our worry dragons by dwelling on anxious thoughts or look for ways to shrink them.
Today I worked with my own coach on facing the reality of my limitations. I was worried about being able to attend a conference with a current knee injury. Getting out of my worry zone, I thought about the NRT (next right thing). After some prayer and reflection, I was able to postpone Community Counseling’s presence at the event until a future year when I will be injury free. Tonight I’m grateful for the grace of the event planner and having the support I need in my life to prevent me from letting the pain get me down.
