Have you ever needed some encouraging words and they came at just the right moment?
Today I experienced words of comfort in the form of an audio book today. I thought I would share with you the message I sent to the author On Getting Out of Bed @oalannoble. He’s a previous Baylor professor I wished I’d had a chance to learn under although I’m grateful for those professors in the @bayloruniversity English department whose wisdom and encouragement continue their legacy in my life today.
I’m a Baylor English major grad, mental health professional of 25 years, author releasing my 5th book in June and wanted to thank you for your latest book On Getting Out of Bed. Having in the last 6 months experienced two major surgeries, my dad’s diagnosis of cancer and recent death, and a hospitalization while speaking at a national conference, I have found your words of great comfort and I know they will make a difference in my own work and ministry. After a total knee replacement, walking around the block is now a challenging effort that takes mental strength along with physical effort that I used to take for granted. I’m listening to your words on audible, and it’s making this journey easier. It’s also encouraging me as I struggle more than ever to regain a level of productivity I’ve taken for granted until this season.
Anyone else relate to doing hard things one step at a time today?
