Are you struggling with anxiety? Anxiety is different than worry. It’s when worry gets out of control and begins to take control of your mind and body. Your thoughts race. They go to the negative often. They keep you from focusing or sleeping. Your heart beats fast, you feel flushed, maybe even nauseous. My daughter when she hears loud chewing (called misophonia), wants to hit someone (like me the loud chewer 😂) or run away.
Courage practiced through positive thoughts and taking action in the midst of fear (doing it scared) helps us conquer anxiety hour by hour, day by day.
Starting off your day calm helps. I encourage clients in the counseling office to leave time in the morning to move slow. We want energy but prevent the kind that comes from rushing.
Next if you want to fee brave, think courageous thoughts. “I’ve got this.” Add God for extra power. “There is nothing God and I can’t handle together today.”
I try and increase my courage by occasionally trying new things or doing something I think will be hard. How about you?
What are some tips you use that empower your to be brave or that you are teaching your kids? I’d love to see your ideas as I’m writing a book that includes a chapter on courageous mindsets.

Thank you for asking. I’m the mother of three grownup daughters, Valerie, Victoria and Vanessa. I’m totally grateful to our Creator for allowing me to steward these beautiful young ladies. I find that my children like to hear about their toddler years and some funny stories and celebratory stories. I make certain to include laughter especially about myself. They like knowing that I dote on them and I have always.
When I tell stories about my growing up years and the mistakes I made, they even forgive me and give me ideas on how I should have handled the situation. It makes them my helper and they like to help me become a better person for myself.
